CTS (Cheque Truncation System) - Pura Explanation

Introduction:

Cheque Truncation System (CTS) ek aisa system hai jo cheques ki clearing process ko digitalize karta hai. Is system ka main aim tha cheque ke physical movement ko kam karna aur clearing process ko efficient banana. Pehle cheques ko physically clear karne ke liye kaafi time lagta tha aur is process mein kai errors bhi hote the, lekin CTS ne is process ko bahut asaan aur fast bana diya. CTS ko sabse pehle India mein Reserve Bank of India (RBI) ne 2008 mein implement kiya tha, lekin 2010 tak ye system poore desh mein laga nahi tha.

Is article mein hum dekhte hain ki 2010 se pehle kaise cheques clear hote the, clearing kaise lagti thi aur CTS kaise kaam karta hai.

2010 Se Pehle Cheques Clearing Process

Physical Movement of Cheques

Pehle cheques ki clearing process mein, physical cheques ko ek bank se doosre bank tak bheja jata tha. Jab koi cheque kisi bank mein deposit hota tha, to wo cheque clearing house ko bheja jata tha, jahan se cheque ko dusre bank ke clearing house tak le jaya jata tha. Is process mein kai din lagte the aur har bank ka apna system hota tha.

Time-Consuming Process

Cheques ke physical movement aur clearing process mein kaafi time lagta tha, jo customers ke liye inconvenient tha. Cheque clearing mein 2-3 din ya zyada lag jaate the, aur agar cheque me koi mistake hoti thi, to process aur bhi delay ho jata tha.

Risk of Errors

Cheque clearing ke dauran kai errors bhi ho jaate the. Agar koi bank officer galat tarike se cheque verify karta tha ya agar cheque ko accurately clear nahi kiya jata tha, to dispute ho sakta tha. Iske alawa, cheque ka physical transport bhi risk ka kaaran ban sakta tha, jaise ki cheque khoya jaa sakta tha ya damage ho sakta tha.

CTS (Cheque Truncation System) Ka Introduction

CTS Ki Shuruat

RBI ne 2008 mein CTS ko introduce kiya, jisme cheques ko electronically process kiya jata hai. Is system mein cheques ko scan karke unka digital image banaya jata hai, jo clearing process mein use hota hai. Iss process mein physical movement ki koi zaroorat nahi hoti, aur cheques ka clearance much faster hota hai.

CTS (Cheque Truncation System) Ke Benefits

CTS ke implementation ke baad kaafi benefits mile, jisme sabse bada benefit tha time ki bachhat. CTS ke under cheque clearing ka process kaafi fast ho gaya, aur errors bhi kam hone lage. Iske alawa, physical transportation ki zaroorat nahi hoti thi, jo ki cheques ke safe aur secure clearing ko ensure karta tha.

Cheque Clearing Ka 3-Step Process (CTS)

Step 1: Cheque Deposit and Scanning

Jab aap apne bank mein cheque deposit karte hain, to cheque ko bank mein scan kiya jata hai. Yeh scan ho kar cheque ka digital image bank system mein store hota hai. Yeh process bahut jaldi hota hai aur cheque ka asli paper bank ke paas hi rehta hai.

Step 2: Image Transmission

Cheque ka digital image bank ke system se clearing house tak bheja jata hai. Yaha par cheque ke image ko validate kiya jata hai. Validation mein cheque ki details, account number aur signature verify kiye jate hain. Is step mein physical movement ki koi zaroorat nahi hoti.

Step 3: Settlement

Jab cheque ki validation ho jaati hai, to uski payment bank account mein transfer ho jaati hai. Iss step ke baad, cheque clear ho jata hai aur paise recipient ke account mein transfer ho jaate hain. Yaha par clearing ka process complete ho jaata hai.

Conclusion
